KATHERINE KELLY LANG

          Katherine Kelly Lang began her interest in both sport and entertainment at a young age. Her father, Keith Wegeman, was an Olympic long jump skier and later took on the career of television’s “Jolly Green Giant”. Her mother, Judith Lang, was professional actress and current fashion business owner.  And Kelly’s Academy Award winning grandfather, Charles Lang, one of Hollywood’s most outstanding cinematographers, all helped spark her interest in what would eventually become an impressive and full career.

Kelly Lang has made an outstanding name for herself having landed roles on iconic shows such as: Happy Days, Magnum P.I., The Young and the Restless and much more, but she is most famously known for her iconic role as Brooke Logan on “The Bold and the Beautiful” being cast as an original character in the spring of 1987. She has since made a robust career of over 30 years as one of the television show’s quintessential lead female characters.

          With a love for sports and the outdoors Kelly has always been involved in a myriad of athletic endeavors. Kelly’s passion for triathlon, however, began in the spring of 2013 when she was invited to join the Bold and Beautiful Triathlon Training Group. In her first competition she placed 3rd in the Nautica Malibu Triathlon. Feeling inspired by her first triathlon experience she soon began fully immersing herself in training to further compete. Within six months Kelly was competing in half ironman races. Kelly has since made her mark in the triathlon world where she competed in a number of triathlon races including some of her most memorable experiences at Abu Dhabi International Triathlon in 2014, Ironman 70.3 Oceanside 2014,  Malibu triathlon 2015, Ironman 70.3 Vineman 2015, Ironman 70.3 Western Sydney 2015, Ironman World championships 2015 in Zell am see-Kaprun Austria, Ironman world championships Kona, Hawai'i 2015, Ironman 70.3 Tennessee, Chattanooga, world championships in 2017 and much more. Kelly has trained with some of the worlds most sought after triathlon coaches including Dave Scott in 2015 And currently is training for the 2018 Ironman World championships in South Africa with professional triathlon coach, Siri Lindley.

On her free time Kelly loves soaking up as much family time as she can, she is also involved in philanthropic ventures including being on the board for “Women for Tri” to encourage other women to embrace the triathlon sport and reach for their goals, and is acting spokeswoman for Amgen’s “Breakaway from Cancer” which is a national organization dedicated to increase awareness of important resources available to people affected by cancer from prevention through survivorship.

Passions: Break Away from cancer bringing awareness to their cause, and helping advance cancer research and triathlon amongst many other things.
